The following graphic shows an example setup of a local and a cloud installation connecting REST-based web services. It should be noted that systems that actively transmit data or triggers to the Connect Server must be able to reach it via HTTP or HTTPS. In this scenario, the Connect Server provides its own http server. If updates are "collected" via periodic polling, this connection can be omitted. While polling simplifies setup, it prevents real-time synchronization.
